Hi everyone,

I work with SDL Trados 2017 and used Transpdf to create an xliff file from a PDF. Once I had finished the translation I saved the target file so I could send it to my colleague to proof. This was an xlf file. She also has the same version of Trados but could not open the xlf file and has had to download OmegaT to open the file and work on it.

I had no idea the output file would be xlf and I'm now concerned that a) I will not be able to upload the file she returns to me in Trados and b) that I will not be able to upload her or my file into Transpdf to create the final PDF.

Does anyone have experience sending Transpdf xlf files for proofing in Trados? Have they found a way round the fact that the file type is not recognized? I did think about sending her the PDF to proof but proofing PDFs is tricky and time consuming so I thought it would be easier to keep it all in Trados...
