Key already exists in Studio 2019

Studio 2019 SR2

I have this issue where I get an error message "Key already exists" when I open a file for review. I've seen similar posts, but the thing is my windows (Translation Results, Concordance Search, Termbase, etc.) disappear and there's no way of having them back, even after resetting windows layout.

Any idea where this comes from?

    I don't have any duplicates, but it seemed to work now. I had this issue two days ago for the first time. After several reboots, I was back to work, but I noticed the windows layout had been reset, which isn't a big deal..

    What I mean now by "seemed" is I'm experiencing the same thing today. I am now able to open projects to translate and review, but I'm wondering if I'm really ok here.

    Let's hope it really was about CADF in the first place and you don't hear back from me.

    I also experienced this issue lately. 2 revision projects were "problematic" (in the sense that the PM, the translator... everybody had issues and the PM even had to isolate one of the files in a separate project). 

    By chance, I had just installed a brand new laptop with a fresh Studio 2019 installation. I could only edit some of the files on this new laptop, and one file even only after a reboot.

    My understanding is that the error is a sign of a memory leak or an out-of-memory condition. Cause could be either the project itself or the plug-ins. That is why the interface fails to load completely. The random behavior described by Jérôme could mean that the memory sometimes allows Studio to function as expected, and sometimes it does not.

    Suggestion/question : can the SDL plugin app *disable* plug-ins (not just uninstall them) ? That would help in these cases. Alternatively, it would be great to have a "safe mode" for Studio, like the one in Word/Excel : start the program with Ctrl key pressed to bypass loading the plug-in.

    As an update, I was able to make it work after a few uninstall/install tries, plus I'm now testing Beta that I installed/uninstalled many times...

    I don't really consider it an issue now that it seems it was linked to the install process in some way.
