Trados Studio 2019 always crashes with a specific file

Hi everybody,

I'm using Trados Studio 2019 and this morning I started translating a new project that was sent to me as a package. Unfortunately, once a certain segment has been reached, Trados systematically crashes. Is there a way to repair this file or do I need to create a new one? I wanted to try it with SDLXLIFF Toolkit, but the problem is that there is no package option.  Thank you in advance for your informed advice.

  • Can you try disabling your TM and see if the same problem occurs?  If it does, can you save the original source file from the package (File -> Advanced Save -> Save Source As)?  If you can then try recreating the project and see if you have the same issue when you do it.

  • Hi Paul,

Thank you for your suggestions. I disables them TMs, but the problem still occurs. In the meanwile, I created a new file and it works, but what worries me is that I just received a new file (from another project) that causes the same problem...

  • it sounds as though you might be the victim of version differences.  Do you know what version of the software your client is using to create the packages?  Also, what version of Studio 2019 are you using?

These are the currently supported versions:

    SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.5.2145
    SDL MultiTerm 2019 - 15.0.5.56289

    SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 - 14.1.10018.54792
    SDL MultiTerm 2017 SR1 - 14.2.8.55461

  • I have the last  SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.5.2145, but had the previous Multiterm version. I just downloaded and installed it, but this didn't resolve the problem. I can't tell which version my client is using, but the second file which causes problems too comes from another client who certainly has de last 2019 SR2 version.
