Because the operating system is the platform on top of which SDL Trados Studio runs, I believe my fellow colleagues who are still using Windows 7 and Windows 8 could benefit of a free upgrade. This upgrade is absolutely worth it and practically everything is compatible (except old programs from the early 1990's).
For instance, if you are running Windows 7 you can use the same product key (I assume you still have the CDs, where you can find it or at the bottom of your PC) to upgrade. For instance, I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro in a brand new computer that came with just Windows 10 Home edition. Of course you can upgrade straight from your PC (from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1) as long as you have the (old) product key. This will save you some good money. This article explains: www.howtogeek.com/.../
