What should I do?

Parents
  • Hello ,

    Please try resetting Studio-

Go to this location (you must be logged in as admin to do this)

    Depending on your Studio version-

    Studio 2017

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0
and rename the folder (just add _old)

    Studio 2019

Please try a simple Studio reset-

Go to this location (you must be logged in as admin to do this)

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0
and rename the folder (just add _old)

Please let us know if this resolved the problem.

  • How do I log in as admin? I could reach 15.0.0. I have to right click and click "Rename" from the menu to rename the folder? I followed the Paul's instruction to reset the Studio. I still have the same issue.

This is the background of this above error:

Error "Failed to save target content: Cannot find file type definition with id WordprocessingML v. 1" when saving. Checked files under 'Additional installed File Types exist’ under 'Project Setting' (The empty boxes next to SDL Xliff, Subtitles Filter were chcked). I received the same error message when I tried to save the file again.

I deleted my file. I opened Studio. The files were still in the box. I decided to remove the files in the box thinking this was the problem since this was tried to be saved before I changed the project setting. Then, I saw another message saying this will be permanet at that time of deleting them. After the message, I saw a message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I saved the file again. I opened the file with Studio. Now I don't see the files in the box. And I can't open the files. There is a little window with the file names that are shown with empty boxes to be checked next to each file. These boxes can't be checked.

I attached the first package ToTra_27_KO-EN_TR-310_12-09-2019_en-US_part3.sdlppx and the second fixed package ToTra_27_KO-EN_TR-310_12-09-2019_en-US_part3_09.sdlppx from the client. Another transltor could open this second package only:

    ftp://ftp.htpassport.com/FmHTP/Oracle/

    User ID:            Contractors

    Password:        sD#$S4a%

    Click 27_KO-EN_TR-310_12-09-2019.

I received support from SDL Trados support below:

"Can you please send me the project package to have a look at it?

Basically the error comes from the original project being created with a different version as per this article :

    https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0028407

As a workaround you can always send the sdlxliff back to the client and then he can open the file and also save target as.

The client sent me two separate files from the original package. When I opened it, translated some and reopened it, this above error message appeared sometimes.
