SDL TRADOS STUDIO 2019 SR2 - 15.2.5.2145 crashes suddenly when left for a long time

Hello,
As mentioned in the title above, whenever I work on the application then leave it, say for 30 mins. or so, it's no more there when I return back, that is, it simply crashes leaving no error messages.

My OS is Windows 10, kept up-to-date, I have 8 GB of RAM, and work on an SSD.

  • Hello everybody,

Update: I freshly installed everything (Windows, Studio and everything else) and It's been so far so good with Studio. I hope it stays that way.

    I'll keep you posted.

  • Hi,

Exactly the same thing, i.e. sudden and unexplained crashes, happened to me as well. It started in August and stopped briefly after I had reinstalled Windows 10, MS Office and SDL Trados Studio 2019. In November it happened a few times again but only with one document, then it stopped. This week it happened again with another document while I was translating it. I tried it on another computer I have and the same thing happened (the sudden crash) but at another segment in the document. So this kind of crash happens at random and on two different computers (a PC desktop and a laptop). I'm puzzled and annoyed. I have no intention of reinstalling everything on two computers again.

I thought maybe it was the Word document at fault but when I used MemoQ 9.2 to translate that same document using the TM exported from SDL Trados to finish the translation I had not problems at all. So I definitely think the fault/error lies with SDL Trados Studio 2019.

Has anyone any new information regarding this issue? I've saved Windows event logs so that it can be clearly seen what exactly went wrong when Studio crashed.

    Kind regards

    Sergej
