Trados 19 freeze or needs a lot of time when saving

Today I have time to explain the problem in time and frankly not much has changed since I reported it last time except that I work more and more with MemoQ instead with Trados 2019 S2 (while this has nothing to do with the update this problem was already with earlier versions.

Precondition:

A file or better 2 and more, a TM and/or MT Google, Deepl etc. active

Situation:

I confirm several filled in fields with ctr+enter

What happens

TM and/or MT cannot follow and the field stays empty and the system does not react

I try to save the file:

1. status bar shows up for several minutes

2. A new field pop up with a status bar that does not work

3. In the task manager SDL Trados use up to 95% of the processor performance

This could persist maybe hours.

When I want to cancel this task following message appears

Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
(sorry for German but my Trados is German)
Finally I must terminate Trados through the task manager so my CPU does not damage.
I work with a Thinkpad i7, 16 GB RAM 2 SSD (1 Samsung bar with Windows, 1 GB Samsung SSD disk with the data)
I followed today the advice
and deleted all 3 xml files and started Trados new.
Now the trados project is no longer located on the SSD D. but in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0
I opened the project and found the file but nothing changed.
Any solution?
Thank you
Peter

  • Hi Paul

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I had no time yet (and no job pending) to do all this and test it. For the recent job I have had no problems when I deleted the xml files what started Trados from scratch and moved the pending job from D:\freelander\...\ to C:\user\name\appData\roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.000.000 wihtout doing nothing form my side -- and where I did not want my files but prevent Trados from further problems and I had to deliver the job. Maybe the the path get lost and that is the problem. At the moment I cannot test anything because I doubt I will receive an adequate job during Christmas holidays.

    I will keep you updated.

Merry Christmas and again Thank you

    Peter
