Preview = broken (yes, still, after ALL these years): stealing focus from target box (i.e. disappearing caret)

Just wanted to say that, even though I rather like the latest versions of Studio (for a variety of reasons), and am actually using it as my daily driver, all versions of the previewer are unfit for purpose. This is a real shame, since the previewers actually work well, in the sense that they preview the documents faithfully and highlight the current segment. However, I have to switch the preview off at all times to get some actual work done since every time I confirm a segment and move to the next one, the previewer steals my focus, intermittently, which completely f***s up my flow. That is, when I move to a new segment, initially my caret is blinking where it should be (in the target box), then disappears, … then is back in the target box, then disappears (again!), only to finally reappear god knows how long from when all this idiocy started.

My ‘feature request’: since you guys obviously can't manage to fix the focus stealing problem (I've been asking for ages already now), can you at least make it so I can leave the previewer open/activated, but make it so the user can deactivate it until it is actually needed. That is, I don't mind it just sitting there dead, out of sync, as I only occasionally need it to be synced up and ready for use. However, in the current system, Studio tries to sync/re-sync it every time I move to the new system (causing the focus stealing problem), which the Studio programmers have never been able to figure out so it actually works.

In Déjà Vu, memoQ and Wordfast 5, the previewer just works, and does not steal the focus. Come on guys, how hard can it be to fix this!?
