"Lookahead" in Studio might be the culprit here.  If you have this option activated then new terms added won't be immediately available to you in subsequent segments without going back up a few segments to refresh the lookahead cache first.

After disabling the Lookahead option, I have noticed a newly-added term hasn't appeared in any of the subsequent segments (at least 15 of them) even when I closed Studio yesterday at the end of the working day and opened it again today.

Someone else suggested reorganising the TB and I can confirm that this has worked for this particular term so I assume I will have to keep reorganising if I want to reuse my terms*.

*I also tried to add the term as an Autotext entry (because it was a product name) and this didn't work either so I hope a solution can be found for this problem soon.

One final question I have is whether it makes any difference if I add the term in the termbase in Multiterm Desktop directly?

Replying to myself, I wanted to confrim that if I add a new term to my TB directly in Multiterm Desktop, it appears in the Term Recognition option in Studio straight away.

Do you keep the termbase on a network drive by any chance... maybe OneDrive or Dropbox, or an external drive connected to your computer?  I'm wondering if this is affecting the refresh rate in your Project somehow.  I can't explain how this woold work if you add te terms directly to the termbase through MultiTerm... unless perhaps you have not installed the latest versions of Studio and Multiterm together?  You should have these:
