Where are you saving the files/package to after you receive them?

The more information you can provide (and screenshots) the more this helps us determine the problem.

One more thing: this morning I wanted to add a term to the glossary, which had the effect of freezing Trados. I had no other way but to force Trados to quit, after which I couldn't open the file in the usual way (under Home, then Projects). So Trados crashed again and I had to open it from the xliff file (from Windows Explorer). Unfortunately, it also affected my keyboard (e.g. by typing the s key I got a q), which again forced me to restart. I then tried once again to open the file from Trados, but that wasn't possible either. So I had to open it from the xliff file. For some time now, I have been encountering a multitude of problems that make Trados very unstable in daily use. At the moment, I can't associate my glossary with this project, otherwise it crashes.

You mentioned that Studio was working fine and now it is not, so I was wondering if you have recently updated your antivirus? If so, please try whitelisting Studio as follows:

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/whitelist-program-windows-10

If this doesn't help then the issue could be caused by a faulty installation. In this case please try a repair of your installation:

Go to your control panel from the start menu

Select Programs and Features

Right click on the version of Studio you are trying to use

Select Repair

If still no joy then try resetting the Software:

Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0

Thank you for your help. To my great surprise, I realize that I have a Windows Home version and not a Pro version: could this be the source of the problem? My technician performed a maintenance a few months ago and he may have installed a Home version without wanting to. The fact is that with this version, I don't have access to the Local Security Policy. So I tried your second suggestion, without success, as well as the third one, also without success. I still have to open trados from the xliff file. However, I can open other files (under Projects) as usual.

I forgot to add that I have been experiencing this problem since the end of last year (November 2019) and that it has affected other - but not all - projects in addition to the one I am currently translating. I have also just tried once again to add my main glossary, but Trados crashes immediately.
