Auto-substitution allows you to select the format of the times and dates. This is done automatically through your TM at the specific language pair level.

You can change the settings to suit- for instance without the day

or inclusive

What I am trying to find out is what items like Uhr or other such time items unique to a language.

I am especially trying to find out information on Asian Characters like these for Chinese and how they work within Trados.  "tt"is common for time in for Asian languages, but as with these characters it stands for PM and I am trying to find out if it should alter to the character for PM and just how it works for other Asian languages within Auto-suggestion.

This breakdown of all the drop down options for date and time I have not found googling or on SDL.

Studio uses your Windows settings.  So if you go into your Region Settings in Windows you should find what you need:

Two additional questions for you.

Would you say for those different languages that they should have the Region defaults set to their language and make certain their settings for date and time fit the format they prefer?  Chances are they have it with the Match Windows display  language right now.

Do you know what Uhr is with German time?  Not in the what notations mean list.

I'd say it refers to A.M or P.M.  I have no idea why the annotation 'Uhr' is used... maybe a typo.  Daniel Brockmann may have a better idea.

Actually I'm a dummy!  I think it is simply the way to write "15:27 Uhr" or "21:33 Uhr" for example.

Most of our translators work in the office and am thinking for each language to change the Regional Setting from Match Windows

to that translators language specific region. 

I am just uncertain if that might be issue if translating a Language to English document would mean changing that Format back Match Windows. Don't think going back and forth with this setting would be a good thing.  Might be over thinking this, but part of what I am here for to look out for the translators.

I don't have much experience with the impact that would have... in fact I didn't even know there was a setting like this.  Intuitively I think I would match the languages with the specfic language.

Probably good to see if anyone else has any thoughts here.

Finally found out what "Uhr" stands for.  It basically means "o'clock".  i.e.  4:00 am O'clock, 4:15 pm O'clock.
