Or here:

  • yo gravo mi trabajo "gravar bajo" y despues lo encuentro like a "word document "  donde lo gravé

  • Y yo no ... :o( No se como puede ser pero trados no me pregunto donde gravar.

  • I found the file BUT ... Still, I do not have the option to EXPORT it again! WHY ??? What if I make some changes in a finalizad project and then I need to re-export it. I do not understand ...

  • You said "Still, I do not have the option to EXPORT it again".  This mean you have done this once already.  If you use this batch task to get your target files this also closes down the project because it assumes you have finished.  Try right clicking the SDLXLIFF in the files view and select "Revert to SDLXLIFF".  In fact if you double click the file to open it you'll probably get the message to revert to SDLXLIFF.

Sometimes for a single file it's easier to simply use File -> Save Target As (Shift+F12) when the file is open in the Editor.

  • Thank You Paul ...
I understand Trados consider the finalization as a finalization BUT ... does it really means You can not start again working on a project? What if You notice some missing translation or error?

Unifortunately I do not find the REVERT TO SDLXLIFF command in my project ....
Tha only way, I suppose, it was to open it from the folder, lunching Trados from there ...

File explorer showing Trados Studio project files with a selected SDLXLIFF file and its details in the preview pane.

I did so BUT ... No translation in it ...

Trados Studio interface displaying a Russian to Italian translation project with segments and no visible errors.

This looks BAD and SAD! :o(

If I restar Trados and I open the closed project I do see my translated segments ... BUT I really can not believe I can not reopen a project to modify it, or work on it again ... :o(

Of course you can... you are not looking in the right place.  "Revert to SDLXLIFF" is a Studio command so you won't find this in Window Explorer.  It's here in the Files View::

  • Thank You. I found the command ...
But it is NOT ACTIVE ... :o(

    Why?

  • If that's inactive, and if the Batch Tasks doesn't gve you this option it sounds as though you opened the file as a single file project which wasn't saved.  Certainly very odd.

If you have time for a call I can take a look at this wit you right now?  Drop me an email at pfilkin@sdl.com if you like and we can look at this over Skype or something.

  • Because you are again looking at completely wrong place!

You will find it in your original project when highlighting the finalized file.

You are apparently rightclicking the file you copied from the project structure... which is - based on your earlier screenshot (the black one) - a SOURCE SDLXLIFF, not the translated one. That's BTW also the reason why you did not see any translations in it.

You should perhaps read the help and get yourself familiar with the translation workflow, states of the files, etc.

  • Well ... This was ENLIGHTENING guys!
Thank You, Evzen! And Thank You Paul a lot too ... I was actually to writing but Evzen is right (of course about the fact that I still have to fully understand Trados. I am quite new on it, this one is my very first full project done in Trados) ... and was right about the wrong wliff ... Using the one of the TARGET language now I do have the option to RE-EXPORT the file ... ... ...

Trados Studio interface showing a project list with one project named 'DS_WorkingCopy_RUS.docx' in progress and another named 'INTEGRATORI ALIMENTARI' completed.

As You see, it doesn't re-open the project I was working with, and it adds a file in Trados BUT at least is at 100% translated and I can export it ...

About the reason why the previous project is not open again, Paul ... I have no idea, really ...
If You wish and are interested in it, we can arrange a call or even You can have a look using zoom or whatever ...

But maybe tomorrow? Now I am Knoked Out too as Trados was earlier on my comp! Smiley

    THANK YOU!
