Trados Studio error message stating 'Sie haben fuer einige Sprachpaare abweichende Translation Memories bzw. MUE-Systeme eingegeben' in the TM settings window.

Ich kann nicht übersetzen, beim Eisntellen der TM-Einstellungen habe ich diese Error-Meldung: "Sie haben für einige Sprachpaare abweichende Translation Memories bzw. MÜ-Systeme eingegeben" und beim Laden einen Worddokument (1,5 Seiten lang, nur Text) bekomme ich "Die Sequenz enthÄlt keine Elemente"

  • The first message is no error, that's fine. The second one is caused by your source file. If it is just so small, save as DOC (if it is docx) or the other way round and try again. Or copy the text and paste in a new file, save and try again.

    BTW, please post here in English, as this way your chance to get help are much higher.

    I took the „x“ off and I could drag my text inside Trados. Let´s see, if I can manage with the Software…

    I bought the programme last June and till now I´ve got only Problems.

     

    Could you please tell me what is wrong with my TM? Thanks a lot in Advance!

  • There is nothing wrong with your TM. This is just an information, that you have configured it within "All language pairs", not within your specific language pair. As you work as freelancer and will most probably use just few language pairs, this does not matter at all.

    I strongly assume, your "problems" are unfortunately related to the way of the software use and are not really issues of the software itself. Studio is an extremely complex software, which requires a very systematical and ordered way of working. There are steps which must be followed to achieve the goals expected. If you just started, it would really be advisable to get some training here. As you translate from German, I assume you understand this language. Please take a closer look at the www.bdue.de webpage, where you find trainings for Studio. BDÜ offers both paid on-site (presence) high-value training, as also webinars free of cost. These are possible thanks to SDL supporting our organization with running these webinars. There you can learn a lot about Studio. The next three webinars in March, April and May will deal with the principles of working with Studio and may help you solve most of your "problems".
