Target document is only updated up to a certain point (SDL Studio 2017)

Hello,

After translation, my target document is only updated with the target segments up to a certain point.

Any ideas what may cause this, or what the solution might be? I've already checked other questions here, but a final answer or workaround still seems unavailable.

Many thanks in advance.

  • Hello ,

This information is a little vague to be able to build a picture of what might be happening.

Are you using Machine translation? Pre translating the files? Are you confirming the segments as you work? Are certain segments locked (maybe by the project manager?

Would you be able to share a couple of images maybe?

The more information you can provide the easier it might be to find the cause.

  • This concerns a single file translation project from English into Dutch - some of the segments have been pretranslated (populated from the translation memory, which itself is based on an alignment of an earlier document), while others have been translated and confirmed as I worked. There are no locked segments.

When using the 'print & view' option to generate a target Word document, the document is only updated with the Dutch up to a certain point (Dutch text followed by an image and page break), from which the text continues in the original English (start of a new page and heading until end of document).

I originally thought the problem was due to the many comments in the original document, but after I removed all comments, saved the document as a new file and ran it through Studio again as a new project, the same error occurred as of the same point.
