Hello,
I recently got Studio 2019 and I need to migrate my really ancient tmw memories. Unfortunately this doesn't work.
I have the exact same problem described in this post from over a year ago: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/studio/19579/upgrading-tmw-memories-in-studio-2019
There is no problem with my memories (too old, corrupt or anything like that), a colleague who also has Studio 2019 successfully converted two of them in less than a minute.
In addition to the normal procedure using the "Upgrade translation memories" button as described in the above post, I also tried using the "Open translation memory" button and selecting "Legacy Trados Translation Memories" from the dropdown menu. I select the file and click "Open" and then a window with the options "Quick upgrade" and "Custom upgrade" opens ... and closes again immediately (like within a second).
I tried to follow the solution offered in the other post (downloading the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package"), but unfortunately clicking the link leads to the message "We're sorry, this download is no longer available" from Microsoft.
So, is there any other solution to this problem? Thanks for any suggestions.
