I've only seen that error message related to a GroupShare TM but I'm assuming you posted in here because you're using Studio with a file-based TM?

This is normally related to "Lookahead" not Auto-suggest.  Make sure that is switched off.

Another one I haven't seen before.  I'm thinking you need to uninstall and reinstall.  What version of Studio are you running?

Yes, I am using file-based TMs in Studio 2019 SR2 15.2.0.1041 - the latest version.

At first the error message wouldn't close - I'm thinking now that maybe Studio had crashed because a couple of hours later I was able to close it and get on with my work.

I will check those settings and try reinstalling Studio - do I need to return my licence before doing so?

No need to return your licence first.  It won't hurt f you do it, but there is no requirement as Studio will pick up the licence when you reinstall.
