My projectfolder and all subfolders are on a separate network drive. Recently I had some strange crashes with the SDL Trados studio 2017 application. Is it possible that this behaviour had to do with the folder place on this network drive? If yes, how can you move your project folder savely?
Yes, this is possible. The best way to move it is to copy all your projects from your current projects folder to a new location on your local drive, and then remove the projects from Studio. Now open the projects one at a time from their new location by using "Open Project" from the ribbon. This way your new projects.xml will be populated correctly and Studio will know where to find the files.
