Convert TMX (1.3 M TUs) into txt to import to Trados WB2007

Hi All,

I exported a massive TM from Studio 2019. I marked the option "Workbench optmized tmx format for use in Trados 2007".

However, when importing into Trados 2007, even thouhg the process run normally, finnally it indicated that no TUs have been added not updated.

Then, I exported from Studio 2019, again marking the option for Trados 2007, only last 9,000 TUs. Imported the tmx and obtained the same result, no TUs updated nor added. I laso created a new TM and imported the large and the small tmx to the same result.

Therefore, I concluded that the problem might be the segmentation rules and thought that maybe there is a way of coverting a TMX into a TXT, of course outside Trados 2007.

I add that I know about the free App SDLTmExport, but that is for only a maximum of 50,000 TUs...

Could you pls advise me?

Thanks a million in advance for any help!"

  • Paul, me again. I created a new TM on Trados Studio 2019 with the lang combination English United State (en-US) and Spanish International (es-EM), same lang combinantion as Workbench. However, when I exported the TMX from Studio, the xml lang comb shows this:

    <tuv xml:lang="EN-US">
    <seg>To perform genetic testing (can be performed at Screening or Cycle 1, Day 1 visit).</seg>
    </tuv>
    <tuv xml:lang="es-x-int-SDL">
    <seg>Realizar análisis genéticos (se pueden hacer en la selección o en la visita del día 1 del ciclo 1).</seg>
    </tuv>
    </t

    Then, I opened the xml and changed the Spanish lang code to ES-EM. Workbench indicated two errors (about some missing ending tags which I do not know how to find in the xml...) and continue loading TUs, but did not indicate whether TUs have been added and updated. Is there any way for me to be certain that this TMX has in effect been imported.

    Thanks again!
