I just prepared an Excel test file, I added it to an existing project but impossible to translate it. This is what appears when I want to translate:

The text I insered for translation doesn't appear...

The text I exported looks like that:

The arrows show the places where normally a space had to be (after the end of every segment)

Finally after seeing your sreenshot, I found it - in "Bilingual Excel", I lookd at "Microsoft Excel 2007-2013" before!

I would like configurate it so that I don't have the source in the finally document, is that possible? I write "A" in the translation column and nothing in the source column? It's strange because I never touched this option before and I never had any problem...

PS: I don't want the source text to appear in the final document because what will be when I have further columns to translate??

well... you would simply change the target column to be C and then D and then E etc.

If this is the case then the solution is different.  You should not use the bilingual Excel filetype.  So disable it and use the monolingual filetype version 2.0.0.0 you found earlier.

You copy the source into the column you want the target to be and hide all the other columns.  Then when you translate only the one you want to be translated will be used and the translation will replace the source content in the target file.

There still stays the problem with the lacking spaces when I export Word files. Could that be a "bug"? Another person told me that she had the same problem...

You should have created separate posts for these problems because it's hard to mark the question as answered like this, and in turn hard for users to make sense of the thread if they have similar questions.

However... can you provide a sample file?  If it's a DOCX zip it first.

I'm sorry. firstly I posted for the problem with lacking spaces, than I noticed the Excel problem and I thought that there is a general problem with generating correctly all Microsoft files. If you look above in this discussion you'll find a screenshot I posted 5 hours ago.

Thank you for the screenshot. I unchecked the Bilingual Excel and I moved it below, but it doesn't matter - any time I add an Excel file, the File Type Identifier stays "Bilingual Excel". And I don't dare to remove it with the "Remove" button.

If you're adding a file to an existing project then you need to make the change in your Project Settings. If you're creating a new project then you need to make the change in your File -> Options OR your project template depending on how you created your project.

I unchecked "Bilingual Excel" in my project and in the exported file, the original text is now replaced by the translations (no source text anymore)!  :-) It's the version "Excel 2007" and it functions as I was used to on my old computer with Windows 7.

And for the missing spaces, it was exactly the same problem: it came from "Wordprocessing", I unchecked it and now, the File Type Identifier is "Word 2007" and I don't have any space problem anymore!
