I'm going to guess that you just need to press Ctrl+Shift+8 in word because you have your display settings showing the hidden text?

This first image is what the Word doc looks like with hidden text turned off (I go to File>Options>Display and turn on hidden text).

This displays once turn on hidden text. It shows extra pages.

Trados of this section only includes this.

And your point is?  I'm sorry, but I don't understand the problem here.

You have hidden text which Trados is correctly not extracting and therefore it won't be translated.  What are you expecting to see?  My understanding, which is obviously wrong, is that you have explained exactly what should happen.

Are you expecting Trados to create a target file without the hidden text just because it wasn't extracted?  If you are then this will not happen.  Not being extracted just means it's not exposed in the Trados Editor for translation.  It is not removed from the target file.

Yes, we were expecting the target file to be created without the hidden text.  Several of the other translators used the same file with the hidden text and their target file was created without any hidden text showing up.

ok - understood.  Then the answer to your question is no, this will not happen.  It will always be there.  Why it might show up for some and not for others because Word is showing it might be down to the Word default settings on each users machine... perhaps?

Ah, I was wondering if something like that might be the case.
