TM upgrade after each SR

Hello there,

It looks like it's necessary to uograde all TMs after each SR, at least that's what happened to me. This process is time consuming, especially when you have many and big TMs. In fact, I had just finished upgrading thme after  the previous SR, I installed SR2 15.2.6.2831 last Saturday, and must begin again until next SR.

Is there a way tio avoid that?

Thanks a lot for tour answer!

Kind regards,

Jean-Paul

    Not really.

If there are changes made to anything that could affect segmentation then it might be required to reindex the TM to get the best results, but there is no upgrade in this case.

If you move to 2017/2019 then you will be asked to "upgrade", but in reality this isn't an "upgrade" that must be carried out to be able to work.  I can still use TMs created in Trados Studio 2009.  The "upgrade" in this context is really the application of upLift which is the process Studio goes through to extract sub-segment matching from your TM and add it to your TM so it can be used for match repair, and fragment matching.  But this is also not mandatory.  Just depends on whether you want to take advantage of it or not.
