Why CDATA is treated differently when settings were not changed

Question

After I have upgraded Studio to the latest version, I noticed that my previous settings work differently in new projects. In particular, this affects CDATA sections. 
 Before upgrade I worked with a project where all CDATA sections were visible in a separate segment. Like this: 
 
 After upgrade the same file shows the following (no CDATA in a separate segment): 
 
 I have the same settings for these two files! 
 I figured out that to resolve the issue, I need to change parser settings for ac:plain-text-link-body rule (make it "Always Translatable") 
 However, I'm curious about why CDATA is treated differently before and after upgrade.

 It is possible that the way Studio handles the CDATA content has been changed through a development fix in the update. 
 To provide a definitive answer, it would be helpful if you could provide the filters if this is an xml, the source file and exact Studio versions.
