Why does cancelling an action in Trados (often) take so long?

This is a combination of idle curiosity and frustrated impatience. So I'm for example setting up a project, defining my project preparation settings, and I hit return by mistake before I'd finished the setup - it starts to run - I immediately hit Cancel - and it takes minutes to clear back. In fact, I'm not always convinced it manages to cancel at all - I've been waiting for over 5 minutes for this one to finish cancelling and close the batch processing window... my impatience is going to make me kill it.

So - perhaps there is some known issue with cancelling in this particular instance? But I have certainly encountered other situations where it takes considerably longer to cancel than the original task was running for. I may be less impatient if I had a slightly better understanding (it's not trying to roll back anything vital here, I don't think...)

Thanks
