I have also tried the suggestion of using the Advanced Display Filter. I have now applied both filters to no avail.
Please let me know how these settings can be made to work.

Are you sure your segments are locked? This works fine for me:
All three segments should be reported, and they are reported.
In the next step, I locked out segment #2 (little padlock symbol in middle column), which is consequently not reported anymore:

Thanks for your answer! The segments were locked by the agency. In Studio 2019, I changed the settings in the options and on the project level. It still doesn't exclude the locked segments from the F8 verification. I have to click through/ignore literally 1000s of segments with error messages. I I filter out the locked segments, then I can see where the error is. I have a workaround, but it's tedious still. I would really like this function to work. Can't understand why it doesn't after all these versions...
You must use ONLY project settings. When there, you have to go through all verification categories and exclude locked segments in all categories. Otherwise some categories will still be checked, even if you excluded these segments in QA Checker. Same must apply to tag verifier, grammar checker, number verifier and other verifiers, as far as installed.
