Prepare FrameMaker 7 Files error

Hi There,

I want to use the "Prepare FrameMaker 7 Files" function in SDL Trados Studio 2019 to convert mif files to rtf and back convert rtf to mif.

Trados Studio menu with 'Prepare FrameMaker 7 Files' option highlighted under 'Legacy DTP Formats'.

But from June 1st, I can't use this function, it always report following error, could you help me know how can I fix the error, thank you!

Error message in Trados Studio stating 'SDL Trados 2007 components cannot be found. Consider repairing the installation of SDL Trados Studio, or re-installrepair SDL Trados 2007 and try again.' with a link to the knowledge base.

  • I checked that it should work... and it does:

Screenshot of SDL Trados S-Tagger for FrameMaker showing version 8.0.1 and copyright information with a warning message about unauthorized reproduction at the bottom.

I also tested a MIF 7 file and this coverted successfully to an RTF.TTX.  So I'm happy it should work.

Looking at your error I wonder if you have an old version of Trados installed on your machine?  Maybe try closing Studio and then run this installer manually - TradosCompatibility2.msi.  It should be in here:

    C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2019_SR1 or \SDLTradosStudio2019_SR2:
