Same problem <THE SPECIFIED ITEM IS ALREADY PART OF A COMMAND BAR>. An earlier translation popped up and blocked editing SDL Trados Studio 2019. After having downloaded/installed update SR2 15.2.6.2831 I can't do ANYTHING anymore. Help !!!

This sounds like the Studio settings have become corrupted.

Dear Steven. I followed the instructions and renamed the 3 xml files. SDL Trados Studio 2019 still doesnot work! Could this be due to the fact that I installed SR2 15.2.6.2831 ? (Conflict with option 15.0.0.0 ??) Can't I simply re-download a fresh version of SDL Tr St 2019?

If the settings have become corrupted, simply reinstalling Studio won't necessarily help as tthe problem may still exist.
I would try resetting Studio to the default settings

If this still fails, please log a free licensing and installation ticket via your SDL Account/ Support/Licensing and Installation and the support team will have a look at this for you.
