Am stuck from an error report unexpected end of file has occurred.

Question

Hello. I get this error message as I start up Trados 19 and it does not go past that. I have rebooted the computer to see about fixing the problem. It is not handling.

Anyone who has a suggestion?

<ErrorMessage>Failed to load project from ...... There is an error in XML document (323, 110). Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: ProjectFiles, Project. Line 323, position 110.</ErrorMessage>

This sounds like the sdlproj file has become corrupted. 
 1.Go to the location of the *.sdlproj file. NOTE: The *.sdlproj file and its location are disclosed in the error message, for example C:\[folder path]\[project file name].sdlproj. 2.Delete the *.sdlproj file. 3.Start SDL Trados Studio. 4.Recreate the project and include the original translation memory. 5.Run the batch task Pre-Translate to add all your translations back into your file(s).

 It sounds as though your sdlproj file is corrupted. Try this: 
 
 copy the sdlxliff files from your project folder to another location 
 open up the source files again to create a new project 
 close the project and replace the new sdlxliff files just created with the original ones you moved somewhere safe in 1.
 
 it's important that your old sdlxliff files have exactly same name as the new ones

open the project again and now you should have your project back again 
 
 Give that a try and see if it helps.

 Both solutions, from Steve and from myself should work. The difference is this: 
 
 with Steve's solution you lose all the statuses and match value, and if you had translated but not confirmed then you lose these translations altogether 
 with my solution you should be able to recreate the project exactly as you had it before
