Does anybody happen to know if there is a way to copy or export customised project templates from Studio (sdltpl) to MemoQ?
Thank you!

There is no way to do this... completely different technology.

You've done the courses and still need to go a little further, or still not clear?

Too bad!! I just don't see why it doesn't. Is it not a common scenario for a translation agency? Anyway, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge - this will save me and my colleague a lot of trouble!!
Well... aside from the obvious what exactly would you like to take from your Studio project template and have work automagically in memoQ?

Well, the parser rules for our editing system - it took us ages to make all the necessary adjustments in Studio for the XML files. There's no decent scheme file/template file from SMC (Smart Media Creator, our editing system) we could use, so reproducing the same settings in MemoQ would just take too long (it's just needed for two translations coming up soon).Do you see what I mean?

Not possible. memoQ is a completely different type of CAT. But if you create the bilingual file in Studio first and then send the sdlxliff to memoQ why do you even need these rules?

Yes, this is what we normally do. I create the project and project package in Studio and send it over to her to translate it in MemoQ. But as I'm going on holiday this Friday and there's no one else in the company working with Trados, this would have been our holiday solution ...
Then your options are either... training on how to use Trados, or recreate your filetypes in memoQ. If they are simple XML filetypes it'll be time consuming but probably possible. If they are more complex filetypes they may not be possible in memoQ at all... just depends on what's translatable.
