I use this function quite frequently and I can't say I experienced what you describe. It would be a better starting point if you were to pick a few concrete examples, include screenshots etc. That way we could try to replicate. What you describe is pretty general and hard to respond to except to say that I find the function very useful. The one thing that does not get copied and that seems to be very hard to change is the default customer and default time to complete.

Apparently it's not that rare as I just found out, even very large outsourcers experience that behaviour and nobody answered their thread either: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/studio/29797/project-template-created-from-existing-project-doesn-t-contain-any-tms-whatsoever (or to the right under related)

I didn't see that thread before else I would not have needed to open my own and for them it must be even more a pain in the a** regarding the time loss.

here an example:

source before creation: No TMs under All languages as this is a project for EN-US > LB-LU

source before creation: 4 TMs under language pair EN-US > LB-LU as this is a project for EN-US > LB-LU

target template after creation: no TMs under All languages (which is correct)

target template after creation: no TMs under language pair EN-US > LB-LU (which is wrong as there must be 4!)
