Are you sharing project TMs or normal TMs?

I'm sharing normal TMs. One has 21,579 segments (enabled for search and update) and the other has 175,561 segments (enabled for search only)

I've never done what you are trying to do, but the idea of Project TMs is that only relevant TUs from the main TM are copied, so that the program does not have to search through irrelevant TUs again and again.

I think I would try to share the project TMs instead of the main TMs. Also, it's the project TMs that get updated during work. The whole sharing thing only makes sense if they access up to date TMs, does it not?

I'd try to share the respective project TMs.

I see your point Daniel and I'll look further into using project TMs. As I've been working on my own with Trados for the last 15 years, I'm not used to using them!

In this case you certainly have more experience than I. However, Studio creates a project TM by default, unless you state otherwiese and searches only in that unless you select "search main and project TMs" in options.
