Trados 2014 inserts "blank" (white space) between all words and the any punctuation mark following it.

Hi there,

I am using SDL Trados Studio 2014 SP1 - 11.1.4095.0 

Since few days ( or weeks?) , I am noticing that SDL Trados 2014 inserts a "blank" (white space) in the target segment sentences between all translated words and the punctuation mark (e.g. full stop, comma, question mark etc.) following it. The text in the source segment is definitely clean, i.e. no unnecessary blanks are there. 

This is quite annoying and certainly a lot of manual work to remove all those unwarranted blanks.

Is there any way to avoid this? Any comment or advice is welcome.

    First of all please accept my apologies for not having answered to your (indeed) very fast response to my query. I must have overlooked your mail message in my mail box. I was of the opinion that no reply was made to my query till I read today Sandra's input and saw that you had already responded long time ago. I am sorry for that.

    Now, let me try to answer the questions you raised in your mail.

    1. Yes, I am using the Google Auto Suggest plug-in (as MT) available for Studio 2014.

       Apart from that I am not using any other MT.

    2. I have noticed that "sometimes" even CM phrases placed automatically in the target segment have these blanks.

    Day before yesterday I have installed ADL Studio 2014 and Multiterm 2014 SP2 package.  I must keep an eye to see whether the "blank (white-space)" problem still exists. I will feedback on this in about 2 -weeks from now.

    Hi everyone,

    I've experienced the same problem for quite some time too, especially in segments with formatting such as bold, italics etc.. Installing SP2 did not change anything. I also use the Auto Suggest plug-in.

    Hoping for a solution.

    Hi,

    Can someone let me have a small file that behaves like this, and then give me the correct steps to reproduce the problem.  At the moment I have no idea how to reproduce this problem and it doesn't happen for me.  I don't understand how it could happen if you are not working with MT or with any TMs.  How does the translation get there at all?

    Hi Paul,

    I would be glad to send you a dummy test file (4 - 5 lines) but I am at a loss in figuring out how to do it?

    How can I attach a files here (i.e. the source, target and the XLIFF files) for your reference. Do you have an E-mail account which you could share with me so that I can send the said files as attachments to you?

    Further, just to avoid any misunderstanding, as I mentioned in my last mail I am using only the Google Auto-suggest Plug-in for Studio and only my own TM, which of course is getting bigger day by day.. My observation as of today is that these blanks appear whenever Google Auto-suggestion comes into play - but surprisingly, not always. In my dummy test file no CM/TM matches are found or included.
