Batch delete not working properly in Studio 2019

Hello everyone, hope you're well!

I'm trying to batch delete a huge TM I've got (484,000 KB) using the following filter criteria:

Trados Studio Edit Condition dialog box with 'Last used on' field selected and operator set to 'Smaller than or equal to' with a date value input.

(I'm looking to delete anything last used by that date, so that's why I selected "Last used on" and "Smaller than or equal to".)

I did that with other similar-sized TMs before my recent upgrade to Studio 2019, and it worked well - for those other TMs, the batch delete took a few minutes, as a high number of TUs were deleted.

For this one, however, only 1000-odd TUs were deleted. Besides, if I keep doing the batch delete, it keeps deleting more TUs little by little, 80 TUs, then 43 TUs, and so on (now it's stuck at 23 TUs at a time...)

When I press the "Search" button, it shows me a never-ending list of results meeting the filter criteria, but those results should have been deleted when I first did the batch delete.

Any thoughts on that?

Thank you!

  • Hello Paul,

Still regarding this, we've tried it with Studio 2021 as well, but every time we batch delete, it deletes only some TUs matching the filter criteria (e.g. 180), and if I batch delete again, it deletes 180 more, and so on and so forth, and if we keep doing that it eventually manages to delete everything. However, before Studio 2017, it would delete all unwanted TUs at once (sometimes we need to delete 100K TUs or more for each TM). We've also tried it with different laptops, but had the same results).

Writing this to check if there's been any update, thank you!
