I'm glad it worked. I would try to right-click on the package in Windows Explorer and try if I can change the default application by clicking on "Open with" and then indicating Studio 2021 to open the package.

Or in the Windows settings (sorry, my operating system is in German): Einstellungen > Standard-Apps > Standard-Apps nach Dateityp auswählen > .sdlppx and then change the default app.

Does that work?

I've tried that, but Trados does not even appear there as an option... The only options I have are MemoQ or the looking in the App Store...

Have you tried running a repair on Trados Studio from the windows control panel?

Hi Daniel,

When I right-click the package in Windows Explorer and click on "Open with", I get this dialogue:

If I click on "Weitere Apps", more apps are suggested to open the file. Below the list you'll find "Andere App auf diesem PC suchen". Here, you should be able to browse to Studio 2021 if it is not listed. Does that help?

I don't see that as an option. The only I gave is "Uninstall"...

That helped indeed :-) But do you know how I can set SDL Trados as the default app for this type of files?

You can repeat the procedure and tick the box "Immer diese App zum Öffnen von .sdlppx-Dateien verwenden" on the dialog box (sorry, I forgot to mention that).

You should see this:

Click it and you'll get a message asking you if you want make to allow the app to make changes to your device.  Say yes and then you see this:

Click "Repair".
