Hi!
I have a file where sentences have been chopped up badly because there is a new segment, and a new paragraph, for each line of text in the original file (and these lines are quite short).
Is there a tool I can use in studio to batch merge segments (once I have a file where merging across paragraphs is possible) so that these chopped up sentences get merged and every segment has to end with a full stop?

Daniel Hug is right, it's a pdf file. Could you point me towards any good resources for getting savvy with pdf segmentation rules?

I don't think segmentation rules to deal with a poor PDF conversion is the way to go. Better to use a decent tool and clean up the converted PDF so you have a better source file. Will be a much better, and less problematic process for you if you do this.
Transtools is a good one...

Thanks for you advice with this one Paul and Daniel! In the end, I wasn't able to fix the problem with this one, as it came as a package that the project manager wasn't able/willing to change. But your answers give useful options and tools for future projects
