Search function not working in Trados Studio 2017

Question

So the issue I have is not that the CTRL F and CTRL H functions are not displaying (I have tried to follow instructions in previous threads) but the functions are actually crashing upon opening them. A second window opens but appears blank without the SDL logo and cannot be accessed. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled Studio to no avail. Any ideas? It was working perfectly last week. I'm on Studio 2017

 Do you normally work with multiple monitors? Could this be on the other one that is no longer attached?
