Failed to save target content: Could not find part of the path

and then the path is given as AppData]\Local\Temp\SDL_Wizard_Project_and then a long sequence of numbers and letters with T.mxliff at the end of the path.Error message in Trados Studio stating 'Failed to save target content. Could not find a part of the path' followed by a file directory ending in T.mxliff.

I created a project with 3 Memsource files. Translation was fine but now cannot save the target files. Get the above error. I have never had problems with Memsource files in Studio 2019 before. I recreated the project several times and reprocessed the files with the TM. Saving to target does not work. I also get the same error when I simply open the file and do not translate anything and then select Save Target as. The original file already has some translations from the client.

It works when I go the route of "Translate as single Document". Then the file can be saved as target. Tried other projects afterwards to see whether something was corrupt in my Studio 2019 setup but other new projects work fine. Target files save without issues.

  • Hi Steven,

Thank you for the detailed response. I did try all 3 files as single documents and all saved fine individually back to target, just not within a project. I then downloaded the App again (after reading in the link below that the bug had been fixed). After installing the Plugin, my Studio did not launch at all. So I removed the App again. Then it launched. So probably had to do with my AV software? I added Studio to my AV as an exception.

What worked for me though, is the solution given by Mike below. I created a Project with only a test file in Word. After creating the project, I added the 3 Memsource files and tested the round trip. They all saved back to Target just fine now.

    Thank you

    Karin
