While selecting multiple segements for copy or other actions, it got jammed for a longer time than SDL 2017 or earlier version, even lead to stop working.

 I have run a similar test (2021) and don't appear to have the same issues 
 
 Perhaps its worth checking your system resources and OS 
 As a minimum we suggest the following-

 Also perhaps making sure everything is up to date may help
