Then the process is this based on the plural "files":

1. Create a project in Studio
2. Translate the files
3. Once complete you save the target files and these will be the "clean files"

To save the target files you have these options.

One at a time

1. open each file into the editor, or at the end of the translation of each file (then it's easy as you work)
2. press Shift +F12 or File -> Save Target As

Run a batch task either by selecting files in the files view, or at the Project level.

There are three batch tasks that can do this for you using this process:

1. select the file(s) or the project
2. click on Batch Tasks from the ribbon
3. Run any of the following
   1. Export Files
      1. specify the location for the files to be exported to
      2. make sure you select "Target version" from the drop down
         
   2. Generate Target Translations
      1. no settings
      2. "clean files" will be saved into the target language folder of your project
   3. Finalize
      1. this task will updated your Translation Memory and generate the "clean files"
      2. specify how you want your TM to be updated
      3. provide a TM User ID if you want your TM to be stamped with a particular users ID for these files
4. All three of these Batch tasks will also close the project down.  So you will need to "Revert to SDLXLIFF" (which you will be prompted to do) if you need to open them up again and work on them later.
