You can do this using regular expressions in the Advanced Display Filter by searching for the appropriate pattern for the Japanese text you have.  This may help:

This should allow you to filter on Japanese only.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried the regular expressions in the link you posted, but they don't seem to work (Trados either shows nothing when I use them or shows all segments). 

The segments in Japanese will jump when I run the spellchecker anyway, so I don't think I skip any of them. It would have been conveient to show only these segments to have an idea of how many of them are included in the files, but it's not a big issue.

The spell checker can ignore the locked segments. To do so, go to Options > Editor > Spelling and tick the Locked checkbox.

So you only need to manage to filter the Japanese translated segments. I haven't tried any of the regexes of the link, but I guess something should work for you. Just to confirm: you tick the Regular Expression checkbox in the Advanced Display Filter, don't you?

Can you provide a small sample of the texts you're looking at?  So just provide some segments with source and target, some with Japanese and some without.  Then it'll be easier to provide a working example of how to achieve this with your texts.

I would have just made it up, but seeing the variants I think having something representative of your text would be a good idea.

I wasn't aware that there was a community advanced display filter (I was using the display filter that comes with Trados). I installed it, checked the "Regular expression" checkbox, and it worked this time.
