Does SDL support Google 3.0 plugin that is required to use AutoML?

Hello!

I'd like to use Google AutoML in SDL Trados Studio, and as far as I understand, SDL needs to support Google 3.0 plugin, so that the model can be trained and sent back to my Trados project without me going through extra manual steps of writing a code, importing the data, exporting the data, etc.

So, does SDL support Google 3.0 plugin? If so, where can I find more info on how to implement it?

  • Well... I think that depends on how much of the functionality you use.  We are not charging for the plugin but you do have to pay Google for cloud storage for glossaries and models as well as fees for model training... and then you also have the usage costs.  I trained a single language pair for a single domain with around 50k TUs, and we used a few glossaries to help with the development and it cost around € 220.

I think it's hard to put a single figure on this because we don't know what your "average" user will use, and because the billing from Google is a bit of a mystery until you see the estimates of the costs coming through on your account.
