With all this added functionality, do you have any estimates on how much it's going to cost?

Well... I think that depends on how much of the functionality you use.  We are not charging for the plugin but you do have to pay Google for cloud storage for glossaries and models as well as fees for model training... and then you also have the usage costs.  I trained a single language pair for a single domain with around 50k TUs, and we used a few glossaries to help with the development and it cost around € 220.

I think it's hard to put a single figure on this because we don't know what your "average" user will use, and because the billing from Google is a bit of a mystery until you see the estimates of the costs coming through on your account.

Thanks for the "push"!  I actually have it on my todo list to publish this week and still didn't get around to it.  We're going to release this as a Beta and as a separate plugin that you can only run if you remove the current production version.  But this is easy enough using the appstore integration since this is a 2021 plugin only.  Once it's out of Beta we'll replace the current production version with this one and that will end any temporary confusion it may cause.

It uses the same code base which is why you can't them together... but as you have the ability to use the old version inside the new one it should be simple to run the old way if you need to.

I'll try to get this done before the end of the day ad will update this post when it's ready.

Thanks a lot! I've finally started testing the plugin, and got my first error back - 

Status(StatusCode=Unavailable, Detail="failed to connect to all addresses")

I've filled in all fields, except for the last one concerning the glossary because I don't have one (and don't really understand what kind of glossary it should be). Could it be that that's the issue?

Hey Paul, I cannot download the plugin (the link is wrong but even via search the download throws an error). I need to connect Google AutoML to Studio. How do I do that? Thanks!!

The reason you cannot download is because there has been a service outage over the weekend and our IT teams are still working to resolve the problem.  The outage affects all operations relating to accessing your account, or being able to sign in and download apps. 

The latest update is that the teams believe they have identified the issue and are now currently working on a fix.  Further communications will be issued regarding timelines for resolution.
