Thank you very much, I hope it does what I intend to do.

If you work with project TMs (what most translators do) you will want to select "Update project translation memories": These get merged with the main translation memories when you finalize your project.

If you only update your main TMs you will not be able to use the TUs in the same projects for matches - unless you selected the respective option in your settings. It is delelected by default.

A disputable statement. The 'Prepare without project TM' option was set as default several versions ago because not so many translators use this method. I don't have project TMs at all for many years now. They just clog my HDD. If you merge a project TM with the main one at the end (but actually you don't merge because once you have finalized the project, the project TM entries are added to the main TM, and the project TM remains there duplicating the same entries, which is not merging but rather clogging), then why not just add TUs directly to your main TM.

If you don't understand, or have any use for, the value of this because you don't work in that way then that's fine.  In this case you may as well just work with your Main TM.

I would agree with you however, as I don't think most translators use a Project TM.  It was confusing for them which is why the default was changed.

But the clarification about working with Project TMs and how to deal with them from Daniel was absolutely correct.
