Is it possible to see the original source file?  I can only test it in 2017 and also in the later versions to see whether the issue is reproducible.  If I can reproduce in 2017 and a more recent version, then we'll probably fix this for the more recent versions, but not 2017 as this is just about out of support now.  But at least you'll know it's a software issue and we'll know we may have to fix something.

I understand your pain.

Since Studio 2019 Pro I've had the same problem, and with Studio 2021 Pro I still struggle with this issue.

I translate a lot of PowerPoint files and I noticed that this conversion issue does not happen if I do not perform the "Export for Bilingual Review".

After completing the translation I've tested to "Generate Target Translations" and then open the file and it works perfectly.

Nevertheless, if after completing the translation I perform the "Export for Bilingual Review" when I complete the proofreading and decide to perform the "Finalize" or "Generate Target Translations" I always get a corrupted PowerPoint file.

In my opinion, this is a (very) annoying bug that needs to be tackled as soon as possible by Studio software engineers.
