I got the following error message. What does this mean?
"Could not load file or assemb;y ‘Sdl.ApiClientSdk.StudioSubscription, Version=1.1.6.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c28cdb26c445c888’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"

Its always helpful if you post the full error stack - as this often provided vital information needed to identify the issue
Also letting us know when the error appears is extremely helpful- for instance does this happen ,when you are opening Studio? creating a project etc.

the next thing the happened is that Studio isn't opening at all on my laptop. Instead it sends me to an error page:

I haven't seen this behaviour before- perhaps you can take screenshots that may help us.
In the meantime, please download the FreshStart app and reset Studio

This is not working. It seems there is no SDL Studio on my laptop!
I really didn't opt for this. I haven't even learned how to use the software, let alone troubleshoot and test a product.
Please let me know how I can fix this asap and get back to work!
There was an update notification a couple of days ago, which I clicked and downloaded the update. Could this possibly be related to the problem?
Yes, I have seen similar errors when the update fails for some reason to update all the components.
Resetting Studio or running the FreshStart app won't work!
What version of Studio are you using?
I recommend applying the update manually from the KB site.
If you are using Studio 2021:

If you are using Studio 2019:
https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0027380
Now scroll to the very bottom and download the patch from the FTP site to get the latest version and run it yourself.
