"Cannot find central directory" with project files in folder

Got this error when trying to create a project with many files in a three-tier folder structure (nothing that Studio shouldn't be able to cope with). It's just regular PDFs and docxs. Studio threw the error with regard to some .docxs, which import correctly after adding them directly (not in a folder). So the problem seems to be the folder structure, which I wish to preserve, however. Yes, I can work around this issue, but why should I.

Any ideas?

  • but why should I

    You shouldn't have to.

Perhaps you can help, seeing as you took the time to write this post, and provide some mechanism for reproducing this?  Or does this happen with every multiple tier folder structure you attempt to load?  Information around the folder names might be helpful too... or the full path where this is saved.

  • Happened for the first time. Been doing that many times, not sure if it's ever been three-tier. Folder names contain no special characters and the save path is desktop.

  • Can you provide the error information?  That might point to something.  In the meantime I tried to repro with a ten tier nested structure and this seems to work without a problem.  There are probably an infinite number of scenarios I could apply to this project but without any details from you at all to help it's tricky.  So the best I can do at this stage is just see whether there is a problem with nested folders.  In general I can only conclude there is not.
