As usual it's not as simple as not liking red text.  I tested a simple file with both filetypes and it woks in both:

Can you provide a sample file perhaps?  Maybe test mine as well so you can see it's not that simple:

I've tried your file and this time Trados does not like green

Disabling Adobe Framemaker 8-2020 MIF V2 and using Adobe Framemaker 8-2020 MIF I had no problem with the same file and I can see red text but no green text.

You must agree that there must be same difference between the two filetypes, same ad Excel vs bilingual Excel

I'm using the latest version of Trados 2021

There is clearly something wrong with your installation.  So I'm going to log a support case for you.  Maybe you have introduced an old template into the new product, or something... I don't know.  But you can see I don't have this problem, and there is definitely no green in that file!

I have found that the workaround provided by SDL support for the quite similar case of Bilingual Excel (community.sdl.com/.../bilingual-excel-error-message) works also for this case.

If I change Windows regional settings here from Italian to English everything is OK
