Segment validation very slow in Trados 2021

Question

I have Trados 2021. 
 Studio often (not all the time) takes a very long time to validate segments. It has a major impact on my productivity and it is driving me nuts. Occasionally, the system crashes. 
 I am using a fast computer/connection. 
 Any idea how to fix this?

I solved the issue this way:

Go to File/Options/Automatization 
 Uncheck the check box "Activate segment verification" under section "After confirming segments manually".

 You're lucky your post got through the pam filters... Lennert Fransen needs to look at that. I removed the offensive language but left your overall post because we don't block criticism... we'd just rather it was written in a more constructive fashion. 
 The current release of 2021 is definitely in need of attention and the development teams are working to address this. I don't expect you to have to worry about our problems in addressing complexities you won't even be aware of, or care about, but fortunately the problems you appear to be facing are not something affecting the majority of our userbase. That doesn't mean we won't address them, we will. It just means nothing is as simple as it may look on the outside and we are all doing our best to make sure all of our users have a better experience than the ones you are having at the moment. 
 In general it always make sense to create a new thread rather than tack onto the end of others, especially ones that seem to have been satisfactorily resolved for the original poster already. Aside from the clarity a little organisation brings for others, it also means we can deal with your issues more appropriately. You may not have a support contract or you would probably have used it, so please help us to help you by bringing specifics we can look at in a new thread. Feel free to air your frustration, but please do give us something we can work on with you.

 Try disabling the LookAhead feature in Options > Automation : 
 
 If it doesn't work, untick all check boxes in Options > Automation and in in Options > Auto-propagation (first make a screen-shot of both windows, so you know your original settings and you can revert them back afterwards). If it works, you need to know which checkbox is causing problems, so you can start ticking one by one and testing again. 
 P. S.: I think the culprit is something in the Automation window. But if the file is huge, then auto-propagation might take a while to go through all the segments. If nothing works, sorry, I'm running out of ideas&hellip;

ok, we're getting closer! 
 Now that we know that the problem is updating the TM after confirming the segment, there are several questions: 
 
 Are there several TMs? If so you can disable all of them and start enabling one by one,so you'll know the TM with issues. 
 Are TMs yours or from the client? 
 Are TMs file-based, server-based or in the cloud? 
 If TMs are file-based, are they saved in a normal folder or in a Dropbox/OneDrive or similar shared folder? If so, please delete TMs from the Studio project, move TMs to a non-shared folder, and then re-add them to the Studio project before trying again. 
 
 As you can see, pinpointing the culprit TM is kind of Sherlock task. I'd bet it's the latter bullet point (a OneDrive folder), but there are other possibilities causing your issue. 
 If stuck, please post a screen-shot with your TMs in your project settings (maybe anonymizing file names). Also tell us about the issue: how long does it take to move to the next next segment? How big is the TM in MB?
