Would you mind clarifying what you have done here please.  It's a little hard to follow because if align files there is no Perfect Match.  Perfect Match is a process you carry out during a batch task to a file being prepared for translation... unless of course you using the phrase Perfect Match to mean something else?

You mention saving as a Word file.  An alignment cannot be saved as a Word file.

Are you sure you really aligned the files?

This suggests you are in the translation editor and not alignment, but then you said this:

The alignment window has nothing to do with your translation at all.

Maybe if you can explain in simple steps what you did, without leaving anything out, then we can suggest the best approach to help you resolve your problem.  In general it sounds as though you might just need to delete a tag you added twice to a segment in the translation editor.  But all the talk about alignment is confusing me a little about what your problem may be.

Hi Paul, thank you for your help. I am sorry, I have omitted some passages. Firstly, I will further clarify my task. I had two documents: one in English and one in Italian. The format of the English file had been updated, that of the other file had not. With the Perfect Match, I could easily update it. 

Now, I will list all the passages in order to be more precise:

1. I aligned the files
2. I imported the alignment into a TM
3. I created a new project (project > new project, so I was not anymore in the alignment window) and added the English file. In the wizard, step "Perfect Match", I added the .sdlxliff file with the alignment.
4. The Editor window opened. The Perfect Match had worked. I tried to use the function "Save target as" - Word file - but I got the message "Failed to save target content: The illustration <picture name"Picture 8"> was moved between paragraphs". There was no way to understand where picture 8 was, therefore, I closed the message.
5. I was still in the Editor window. In the window "Comments" I noticed this warning: "Extra tag '<picture name"Picture 8">' found at segment 104". I supposed this was the segment where the picture had been moved. 
6. I opened again the alignment window and disconnected the segments around segment 104. 
7. I created another project (see passages 2-3). 
8. In the Editor window, I tried again to save the target as Word file, but again, I got the message "Failed to save target content: The illustration <picture name"Picture 8"> was moved between paragraphs". Now, I do not know what I am supposed to do. Please, tell me if I still have to clarify some passages.

I would not do this.  When you align you can effectively merge anywhere, including across paragraph boundaries and this may be the cause of your problem since we already know that merging across some segments can cause the problems you have referred to.  Why not just use the TM you created and don't run a Perfect Match at all?

This problem shouldn't occur, but I guess you need a workaround for now.
