Excluding from translation text of certain format

Hello,

We need to process Word files with programming text that shouldn't be translated. That text is always formatted the same (grayed-out, 50%).

There are about 2,300 of those files and would like a better alternative than having to prep every single file (hiding the programming text, for instance).

The large TM that we have was built by "blocking" the programming text (i.e., making it non-editable). This "blocking" seems to produce tags that are different than the ones we get by hiding the text (thus affecting the use of the TM).

The way we "block" the programming text is through a Macro that has to be applied to every single file (no much better option than hiding the text).

Is there any viable alternative (through Trados Studio settings or otherwise) to make that programming text be excluded from translation and making the resulting tags coincide with what we have in the TM?

I'm attaching two small samples. One with "blocked" text, the other shows how we originally get the files.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestion or advice you may have to resolve this problem.

Thank you

Gilberto
