Hi Daniel, thanks a million - however, these are the settings I have, and Trados still fills every.single.segment with a machine-translated text, which is extremely annoying. It does so when I add files to my projects and do "Batch task - prepare".

If you are pre-translating make sure you don't have this activated:

Still, SDL insists in pre-populating my target segments with NMT taken from DeepL. I hope when re-booting my pc all will be ok. It's really annoying!

This can only happen if you are not applying these settings in the right place.  Make sure you have configured this correctly for your specific project if you are running this on a project.  The same the other way around, if you make the change on a project and not File -> Options then this will also fail every time you create a new project.

Could you show in the screenshot where to disable automatic pre-compiling of target segments with NMT in all projects?

I would need DeepL segments ONLY in the window "Translation results" but I'd like to populate the target segment myself, if there is no match from my memory translations.

It's already in this thread above.  I think your problem may be related to a lack of understanding around File -> Options versus Project Settings.  Apologies if this is not the case, but based on your explanation of the problem so far this does seem likely.  Maybe this simple explanation is worth a read?

Old, but still relevant when it comes to understanding what the difference really means and why it's important to apply settings in the right place to suit the problem you are trying to solve.

I made both changes shown above with no success:

1 - Options > Editor > Automation > (DO NOT) Apply best match and (DO NOT) Apply Automated translation
2 - Options > Language Pairs > Batch Processing > Pre-translate files > Leave target segment empty

Is there anything else I can do to refrain SDL from compiling my target segments with DeepL results (which I only need as a suggestion in the Translation Results window)?
