New Project button on SDL Trados Studio 2021 is not working

Hello,

Referring to SDL Trados Studio 2021 when I try to trigger the New Project button, I keep getting the round circle of the hourglass which spins endlessly without opening the Create New Project Wizard.The software gets stuck and frozen. To escape from this position I need to close down the program and restart it again.

If I try to create a Studio Project starting from the Welcome View, cliccking on BROWSE, picking up a document and then click on the button New Project, I get an Error Message warning me: The Nullable object must have a value. And the software gets stuck and frozen as before.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall the software but the issue was not sorted out.

Is there a solution to this problem?

    Can you first of all confirm you are using the latest versions of the software:

    SDL Trados Studio 2021 - 16.0.2.3343
    SDL MultiTerm 2021 - 16.0.1.304

    If you are I think it would be worth trying a reset to begin with as the support team will probably do this as a matter of course.  

    You could use this app for the reset and this will also explain what you will lose by carrying out a reset before you do it:

    appstore.sdl.com/.../

    But if you'd rather do this manually then rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16

    So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old

    If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../
